A G R E E M E N T
BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ARMENIA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE REPUBLIC OF ESTONIA IN THE FIELDS OF EDUCATION AND RESEARCH
The Government of the Republic of Armenia and the Government of the Republic of Estonia (hereinafter the Parties),
following the necessity of further development and strengthening of the existing relations between the countries,
having the goal to develop and enhance the cooperation in the field of education and research,
agreed on the following:
Article 1
The Parties agree to cooperate in the field of education and research according to this Agreement, as well as the national legislation of their countries and the existing norms of international law.
Article 2
The Parties consider direct co-operation between their institutions of general education, vocational education and training, higher education, adult education, youth organizations and research institutes - on the basis of mutual need and interest - as the fundamental form of their educational and scientific co-operation.
Article 3
The Parties encourage carrying out exchange programs for teaching and research staff, teachers, students and pupils to introduce each other the experience and achievements of their research and educational institutions in the field of education and research.
The exact terms and conditions of the exchange programs will be regulated by corresponding agreements between the interested administrations and organizations of the Parties.
Article 4
The Parties will encourage working out and implementing joint research programs and projects to develop end enhance scientific cooperation between their respective institutions.
Article 5
The Parties will favour the study and teaching of the language, literature, history and culture of the other country in their educational institutions, and will support, as far as possible, the exchange of specialists, methodical manuals and textbooks.
Article 6
When needed, the Parties will organize the exchange of delegations to strengthen relations, exchange of work experience, discussion of issues related to cooperation development, as well as will hold conferences for the implementation of this Agreement.
Article 7
The Parties will encourage working out corresponding cooperation projects to carry out this Agreement.
Article 8
This Agreement shall enter into force when the Parties notify each other in writing, through diplomatic channels, of the completion of their internal requirements necessary for the entry into force of this Agreement. The date of last written notification will be deemed to be the date of entry into force of this Agreement.
This Agreement shall remain in force for five years and shall be extended for further five-year periods unless either one of the Party notifies the other Party at least six months prior in writing, through diplomatic channels, of the termination. Unless otherwise agreed by the Parties, the termination of this Agreement shall not affect the completion of any cooperative activity undertaken under this Agreement and not yet completed at the time of the termination of this Agreement.
Done in Vilnius on 22 September 2014 in two original copies, each in the Armenian, Estonian and English languages, all texts being equally authentic. In case of divergence of interpretations, the English text shall prevail.
The Agreement has entered into force on 27 May 2015.
